Uses of everyday materials

identify and compare the suitability of a variety of everyday

materials, including wood, metal, plastic, glass, brick, rock, paper and cardboard for particular uses

find out how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching

History

We will be learning about all aspects of Dinosaurs (diet, habitat, etc)

Use world maps, atlases and globes

Computer Science ‘We are all Connected’. Using the Knowsley CLCS Scheme of work.
Music contrasts (high/low, quiet/loud, smooth/jumpy) and learn to play and respect percussion instruments and the sound they make.
DT ART/Design Technology: collage, clay models, creating fossils, creating bones, painting and line drawing. Also creating model of houses seen on the local environment walk.

Homework At the beginning of every week, your child will be given spellings to learn in preparation for a test on Friday. Please make sure that you practise these as much as possible at home. Reading as much as possible with an adult at home is also very important. During each half term, your child will be given a homework project to complete. This project will relate to what they have been learning in class.
Additional information To promote a love of reading in Class Stegosaurus, we are starting a book club every Friday. Your child can bring a book of their choice into school, share the book with friends and then undertake an activity around their book.
