This half term we will be exploring the topic of ‘Extreme weather’.
English: This half term we will be exploring a variety of texts which include: Non-Chronological reports, recounts and narratives around the different continents, seasons and weather.
Maths: This half term in maths we will be focussing on number and measures.
Science: We will be exploring the different seasons and investigating different types of extreme weather around the world.
P.E: This half term we will be doing gymnastics and small ball skills. PE will be on Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon.
History/Geography: We will be looking at extreme weather around the world. We will also be exploring how seasons are different in different countries and at different times of the year.
ART/DT: We will be creating different ways to measure the weather and also creating seasons inspired art work.
R.E: We will be thinking about why some words and times are special in Christianity. We will also be taking part in the KS1 nativity.
PSHE: We will be exploring the topic of ‘Getting on and falling out.’
Music: In music we will be creating weather soundscapes and also we will be thinking about the contrast between smooth and jumpy then fast and slow when listening to and creating music.
Computer Science: We will be exploring the ‘Walking with Dinosaurs’ topic.
Homework: Children will receive their spellings on a Monday which they will then have until Friday to practise and complete for their spelling test. The children will have a reading book to take home (Please record any reading you do with your child in their reading record, thank you). We will also be doing a weather chart project.
