Information for Parents and Carers

English This half term we will be focussing on poetry and narratives in English.   We will be reading and exploring the story of ‘Tiddler the Story Telling Fish’ and other books by Julia Donaldson.
Maths This half term we will be exploring problem solving and reasoning whilst also recapping areas of shape and number.  We will be exploring: halving, fractions,multiplication, addition, division, positions and time.
Science  This half term we will be exploring different types of animals and comparing the similarities and differences between them. We will also be exploring the human body.

Geography

History

We will be investigating the similarities and differences between different places around the UK. We will be looking at geographical features
R.E. In RE we will be focussing on Judaism. We will be thinking about significant individuals within the religion
P.E. PE will be on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Please bring your child’s indoor PE kit and outdoor PE kit for both lessons. We will be looking at athletics, games and preparing for sports day.
Computer Science The children will be looking at E-safety in computer science and will be investigating how they can keep themselves and others safe online.
Music We will be thinking about different types of traditional music from around the United Kingdom
PSHE We will be exploring the topic ‘changes’ in preparation for the next school year
Art/DT We will be creating different forms of sculptures and will be using different materials to do this.
Homework Children will receive their spellings on a Monday which they will then have until Friday to practise and complete for their spelling test. The children will have a reading book to take home (Please record any reading you do with your child in their reading record, thank you). Children will also be taking home phonics books, flash cards and games to practise.
